My First Mobile Phone

Nokia 3310

Smartphone

Early mobile phones were more associated with selected few and the rich because of their cost, the technological advancement in the early nineties, and the pride of owning a phone where one can be reached anywhere and at any time compared to the stationary home phones. But to me, the nostalgia seems just like yesterday when I first got my mobile device as a gift, the Nokia 3310, where the analogue system was the technology of the day. Mobile phones have transitioned since then and have brought ease to the way things are done now regarding the usage of a mobile phone.

Since the introduction of Google android and Apple IOS operating systems running on almost every phone one comes across has brought massive transformational change to the usage of mobile phones. In analogue technology my Nokia 3310, I was limited to making and receiving phone calls and text messages.

Smartphones are now the norm, thanks to technological advancements that allow mobile devices to run software like Microsoft Office, send e-mails and messages over social media platforms like Whatapp, Facebook, and Telegram, and take photos for posterity, e-books which were not possible in the days of analogue-operated mobile phones.

Smartphones have brought vivacity into my life and many others due to the ease of using them. I can easily send or receive e-mails without worrying about having to carry a laptop or the use of a desktop computer. The mobile phone is no more a luxury but a necessity that students use for research and all levels of professionals used to aid the efficiency of the work. It is of great joy to note that life is better now using a smartphone than my old Nokia 3310, and hoping for the best for future technological advancement in mobile phones.
